Create RSS campaign
Creating an RSS campaign in Acumbamail is very similar to creating a classic campaign, following the same 5 steps.
The first step is to access the Newsletters view and then Campaigns. Then, click on the New campaign button and select Create in the RSS section.
Here's how to create an RSS campaign step by step.
Enter RSS feed for the campaign
In step 1 of campaign creation, you must fill in the same fields as for a normal campaign:
- Campaign name (name for internal use)
- Sender email and name
- Subject and preheader
- Customizing links
- Google Analytics Settings
This type of campaign also has an additional field where you will need to enter a source from which the RSS data will be collected. An example would be https://acumbamail.com/blog/feed/:
Using TAGs in RSS campaigns
When you are in step 4 of designing your campaign, you will be able to add custom tags that will display custom content from your RSS feed.
In the RSS campaign template you can use the following tags:

*|RSS_LAST_POSTN|* | Displays a list with the linked titles of the last N (default 5) posts, not counting the most recent one ( |
|
*|RSS_LAST_SUM_POSTN|* | Displays a list with the titles and summaries of the last N (default 5) posts, not counting the most recent one ( |
|
*|RSS_LAST_SUM_IMG_POSTN|* | Displays a list with the titles, photos and summaries of the last N (default 5) posts, not counting the most recent one ( |
Tags for the most recent post (tags within
*|RSS_POST_TITLE|* | The title of the post ( |
*|RSS_POST_TITLE_WITH_LINK|* | The title of the post with a link to the post ( |
*|RSS_POST_AUTHOR|* | The author of the post ( |
*|RSS_POST_DATE|* | The date of publication of the post ( |
*|RSS_POST_LINK|* | The permanent link of the post ( ) |
*|RSS_POST_IMAGE|* | The image of the post ( |
*|RSS_POST_SUMMARY|* | The summary of the post ( |
*|RSS_POST_CONTENT|* | The full content of the post ( |
These tags will allow you to make the content included in the email dynamic and vary the title of the post, the URLs of the links, etc.
Here is an example where every time the campaign is sent, the value *|RSS_POST_TITLE|* would be replaced by the title of the most recent post and *|RSS_POST_LINK|* by the link to the most recent post. In this case, we have added it to the button.
Schedule RSS campaign delivery
Finally, in step 5 of campaign creation, corresponding to sending, you can choose when you want to send the campaign on a recurring basis:
